Birds of Paradise was inspired by an ancient peacock motif.
The peacock, which was once featured on the Burmese flag, has been
the national bird of Burma for centuries.
The quilt pictured here was machine-appliqued with decorative stitches.
The pattern lends itself well to either machine or hand applique
techniques.
